Photography & Media Policy
Bluesalt Swim School recognises the importance of protecting children’s privacy and dignity while also allowing families to celebrate swimming achievements.
1. Photography and Video by Families
Parents and guardians may take photographs or video of their own child where permitted by Bluesalt management.
When taking photographs or video:
- Please focus on your own child wherever possible.
- Do not intentionally photograph or record other children without appropriate consent.
- Do not share images of other children on social media without permission from their parent or guardian.
- Follow any instructions provided by Bluesalt staff regarding photography.
2. Bluesalt Photography and Video
Bluesalt may photograph or record swimming lessons, activities, events or achievements for:
- Training purposes.
- Staff development.
- Operational purposes.
- Promotional material.
- Website content.
- Social media.
Where a child is identifiable and the image is intended for promotional or public use, appropriate consent will be obtained.
3. Consent
Parents and guardians may be asked to provide consent for photography or video involving their child.
Consent should be provided by an authorised parent or guardian.
Parents and guardians should notify Bluesalt if they have concerns about their child’s image being photographed or used.
4. Respect and Privacy
Bluesalt will not intentionally use images of children in a manner that is inappropriate, embarrassing, degrading or inconsistent with the purpose for which consent was provided.
Images will be selected and presented with consideration for children’s privacy, dignity and safety.
5. Social Media
Bluesalt may use approved photographs or video on its website or social media channels where appropriate consent has been obtained.
Bluesalt will not intentionally publish unnecessary personal information alongside an identifiable child.
