There is no “right” age to start swimming lessons. Some children begin as early as six months, while others take a little longer to feel comfortable in a class environment.
Whenever your child is ready to start, we’ll be here to support them and make their swimming journey a positive one.

A towel, swimmers/bathers and goggles. Goggles are highly recommended for most levels.
Learn-to-swim lessons are 30 minutes. Squad sessions range from 45–60 minutes.
Class sizes vary between levels and are designed to suit the swimmers’ age, ability and skill level.
Yes! Parents and guardians are encouraged to watch and provide positive support and feedback before, during and after lessons.
Simply mark your child’s absence through the Customer Portal. This will allow you to book an available make-up lesson within the same term.
Once an absence is recorded through the Customer Portal, a make-up lesson will become available to book. Make-ups must be used within the term the lesson was missed.

Bluesalt Swim School closes for one week during the first week of the Victorian school holiday period. We reopen for all lessons on the Monday of the second week.
January holiday period is subject to holiday program schedule.

Classes can vary in structure, pace and intensity, even within the same level. This is because each class has different swimmers with varying abilities, confidence and needs.
Yes. Permanent class changes can be requested through the Customer Portal. Select your child and follow the process to view and choose an available class time.
Our Pool Deck team continually assesses swimmers throughout the term. When your child is ready to progress, we’ll contact you to discuss the next level and available class options.

We highly recommend goggles from Beginner 1 through to Squad. For toddler swimmers, goggles are optional.
Children who are not toilet trained must wear an approved swim/Aqua nappy for the duration of their lesson.
Yes. A parent or guardian must remain at the centre for the entire duration of the lesson.
You can cancel your lessons either through the Customer Portal or by submitting your cancellation in writing to [email protected].
A two-week notice period applies to all cancellations. All lessons within the two-week notice period can be attended as usual.
Cancellations made through the Customer Portal will remain active until the two-week notice period has been completed.
Cancellations received after the end of term will incur a $51 cancellation fee.
