Bluesalt Swim School is committed to providing a safe swimming environment for all students.
1. Medical Information
Parents and guardians must provide accurate information about any medical condition, allergy, injury, disability, medication or additional need that may affect their child’s participation.
This information should be updated whenever circumstances change.
2. When Children Should Not Attend
Children should not attend swimming lessons when they are unwell or unable to safely participate.
This includes situations involving:
- Fever.
- Vomiting.
- Diarrhoea.
- Contagious illness.
- Significant injury.
- Symptoms that may affect safe participation.
- Any condition where a parent/guardian or medical professional considers swimming inappropriate.
3. Becoming Unwell During a Lesson
If a child becomes unwell during a lesson, Bluesalt may remove them from the pool and contact their parent or guardian.
Parents/guardians may be required to collect the child promptly.
4. Injuries
Parents/guardians must notify Bluesalt of any injury that may affect swimming participation.
Bluesalt may modify or suspend participation where necessary for safety.
5. Medical Certificates
Where a medical circumstance affects attendance over an extended period, parents/guardians may contact management to discuss available options.
Any request for a credit or other arrangement due to extended illness or injury must be submitted in writing and may require supporting medical documentation.
Requests are considered on a case-by-case basis.
6. Medication
Parents/guardians should notify Bluesalt of relevant medication requirements.
Unless specifically agreed and appropriately authorised, Bluesalt staff are not responsible for administering medication.
Parents/guardians should discuss any medication-related concerns with management before lessons commence.
7. Allergies and Emergency Information
Parents/guardians must provide current information regarding allergies or other medical risks.
Emergency contact details must be kept current.
8. Return to Swimming
Parents/guardians are responsible for determining when a child is well enough to return to swimming following illness or injury.
Where appropriate, Bluesalt may request confirmation from a medical professional before a child returns to lessons.
9. Make-Up Lessons
Where a child is absent due to illness, the standard Make-Up Lessons & Absence Terms & Conditions continue to apply.
Extended medical circumstances may be considered separately on a case-by-case basis.
